Replacing A Wear Ring

Put the replacement one in the freezer for an hour. After you get done cutting the old one out, use gentle sand paper on the inside of the pump housing to smooth out any marks that might have been left in the pump lining. The new one goes in much easier. If you have to tap it in, use a 2X4 and lay it across the top of the wear ring and tap it in place. You want to do this fast before the wear ring can come to room temp. I apply some silicone at the base of the pump where the wear ring will seat for a good seal and it helps it stay in place also.

Cutting thru the old wear ring. Make sure not to cut the plastic pump

I use a screw driver and pry between the pump and the wear ring
